Big Pineapple Markets
Nambour Connection Road, Woombye
This event runs until December and takes place every Saturday from 6:30am-1pm. The market is becoming one of the best along the coast with thousands visiting every year, and is positively bursting with life.
Half the market is dedicated to produce, giving you plenty of selection to choose from. It is all as fresh as can be and locally sourced. Pick up your fruits and vegetables as well as meat and delicatessen products.
Among the other stalls you'll find crafts, fashion and jewellery and specialty goods. If you're stopping by during the breakfast or brunch hours, why not indulge in a sweet treat from Buderim Cookie Company? You are on holiday, after all.
In between shopping for delicious produce and treats, give your kid a ride on the cane train. And don't forget to take a photo with the Big Pineapple!
Wombat Stew, The Musical

Wombat Stew was originally a popular children's book, written by Marcia K Vaughan and illustrated by Pamela Lofts. It has recently been transformed into a musical that's perfect for young families. The simple story has it all: mime, music, dance, blobs of mud, fine feathers, creepy crawlies and big bubbling billy cans. It's a good laugh and captures that true Aussie spirit. You can catch it on 21-22 August.
